As the winter weather seems to intensify in February, the Wellington Winds is pleased to offer you an escape with our program, Music from Other Worlds.
Outer space is the theme with music from ET, Battlestar Galactica, and 2001: A Space Odyssey, When You Wish Upon a Star, Debussy’s Clair de Lune, Turrin’s High Flight, and Balmages’ Gravity Waves.
Robert Miller will perform the Canadian premiere of Johan de Meij’s Concerto for Euphonium UFO.
You can read more about some of these works in our previous blog posts:

We are also very pleased to share an article by Martin De Groot from The Record (January 30, 2015), Wellington Winds concerts will be noteworthy.
These performances are dedicated to the memory of Winds euphonium virtuoso Harvey Gleiser and former Record arts editor Philip Bast.
We will be performing this program twice:

We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
