Dear Patrons of the Wellington Wind Symphony,
It seems impossible, but the last time that we gathered together for a WWS concert was on March 1, 2020, shortly before the declaration of the international pandemic. Little did we know that our musical drought would continue for these 17 months! The music community is gradually opening up, but as a large group, we continue to deal with constraints. Above all else, we value the health and safety of our members, and of our audience. Public health advisories continue to prevent us from gathering to rehearse in at least the shorter term.
For this reason we have decided not to schedule concerts for the remainder of 2021. Our plans are to resume performing in 2022, with concerts tentatively scheduled for February 27 and April 24.
As an organization, we continue to be well-positioned to deal with this ongoing situation. We have talented and dedicated members, and the group is in good financial condition. We look forward to bringing you some wonderful music in 2022.
We will keep you, our loyal audience and friends, informed through this email newsletter, our website and social media channels as the situation evolves. We thank you for your ongoing support for the WWS.
Sincerely,
John Monkhouse, President, & Andrew Chung, Music Director
