Official Welcome to Dr. Johnston Turner
The Wellington Wind Symphony is very pleased to announce that Dr. Cynthia Johnston Turner has accepted the role of Artistic Director and Conductor with our organization! The news was first announced at our March 3rd 2024 concert, at which Dr. Johnston Turner was our Guest Conductor.
In November of 2023, Dr. Johnston Turner stepped in as our Guest Conductor, and the Winds have very much enjoyed playing for her since then. In two short concert runs, she has demonstrated an ability to affect positive change. The membership was unanimously in favour of her taking on this role, and we are all excited to see what the future has in store for the Winds with Cindi continuing to provide her musical leadership.
